How to Rearrange the Tracks in an iTunes Playlist

To adjust the order of the tracks on your playlist:

At the top of the screen, select Library to switch to Library mode. From the drop-down menu at the top of the left panel, select Music. Go to the Music Playlists or All Playlists section. If it is collapsed, hover your mouse to the right of Music Playlists and select Show when it appears. Select the name of the playlist. This opens the complete list of songs on the playlist in the main iTunes window. Songs display in the current order they play. To reorder a song in your playlist, select its title and drag it to a new position. Repeat the process with any other songs you want to rearrange. To turn off a song on the list so it doesn’t play, remove the checkmark from the box in front of the title. If you don’t see a checkbox next to each song in the playlist, go to View > View All > Songs from the menu bar to display the checkboxes.

iTunes automatically saves these edits. Sync the edited playlist to your portable media player, play it on your computer, or burn it to CD, and enjoy your songs in their new order.
