Here’s the Ubisoft Connect refund policy and how to refund your game if you’re eligible.
What’s the Ubisoft Connect Refund Policy?
Ubisoft’s refund policy isn’t lenient or generous, unlike Steam’s refund process. To get a refund on an Ubisoft Connect game, you must:
Request the refund within 14 days of purchase. Have never launched the game.
That’s right. Even launching the game for a minute can invalidate your right to an automatic refund.
There are exceptions to this. You can cancel a pre-order from any time until launch. Also, purchases made through in-game stores, like DLC, currency, and costumes are not eligible for refund.
Finally, if you have been banned from a game or violated Ubisoft’s Terms of Service, or are abusing the refund system, you may also be ineligible for refund.
How to Refund a Game on Ubisoft Connect
Launch Ubisoft Connect. From the top menu, click Store. Scroll to the bottom. Beneath My account, click My orders. Click the order you wish to refund. If you meet the refund requirements, you can click Ask for a refund. Use the Select your reason dropdown to choose why you want a refund. Click Continue. Choose your refund payment method. Click Confirm. Your refund request will be reviewed, with a decision delivered via email (it’s usually instant). If accepted, you’ll get the money back in a few days.
If your game isn’t eligible for a refund through this automatic method, try contacting Ubisoft Support. They may grant you an exception—like if you can’t run the game for technical reasons—though it isn’t guaranteed.
Ubisoft Connect’s Refund Policy Isn’t Great
Ubisoft Connect’s refund policy is nowhere near as lenient as competitors like Steam, Epic Games, and GOG. All of these game stores let you play the game for a short while without invalidating your right to a refund. As such, if the refund policy is important for you when buying PC games, you might want to avoid Ubisoft Connect.
